Daniela Rizzi is a London-based contemporary artist, printmaker, photographer and curator associated with Blackhorse Lane Studios in Walthamstow, East London. She is listed among the resident artists at the Barbican Arts Group Trust (BAGT) studios and has been an active member of the Blackhorse Lane Studios community for many years.
Rizzi is especially known within the Blackhorse Lane Studios community for curating major group exhibitions connected to the annual Open Studios events. In 2024 she curated GOLD! at ArtWorks Project Space, the headline exhibition for Blackhorse Lane Open Studios. The exhibition explored ideas of gold as material, metaphor, colour and symbol, ranging from decorative richness to critical reflections on value and desire.
Her work and curatorial activity place her within one of East London’s longest-running organisations for artist studio provision. The Barbican Arts Group Trust has supported artists since 1972, while Blackhorse Lane Studios itself was established in 2007 and became one of Walthamstow’s first and major studio complexes.
