Caterina Lewis is a painter and lecturer. She studied at Central St. Martins School of Art, MA Fine Art.
Caterina Lewis' work examines her perception of the internal logic of painting. As a starting point, she often deploys images from old photography books bought on eBay. Her heritage is central European secular Jewish and many of the books document Jewish ceremonies and lifestyles, images and customs. Such images steer her to a conclusion that is somehow reflected in the flux between abstraction and figuration.
Caterina Lewis joined BAGT Hertford Road Studios in 2015.
