Paper size : 30.5cm x 25.4cm
Edition 20/20
Caterina Lewis is a painter and lecturer. She studied at Central St. Martins School of Art, MA Fine Art.
Caterina Lewis' work examines her perception of the internal logic of painting. As a starting point, she often deploys images from old photography books bought on eBay. Her heritage is central European secular Jewish and many of the books document Jewish ceremonies and lifestyles, images and customs. Such images steer her to a conclusion that is somehow reflected in the flux between abstraction and figuration.
Caterina Lewis joined BAGT Hertford Road Studios in 2015.

Tam Joseph is a Dominica-born British painter, described as "a uniquely talented, multidimensional artist" by art historian Eddie Chambers. "Tam Joseph has contributed a number of memorable paintings that locate themselves at the centre of socio-political commentary, often making work that shocks as it amuses, amuses as it shocks.
During the 1960's he he studied at the Central School of Art and Design, followed by the Slade School of Art. During 1968 he worked on animation drawings for the Beatles feature film Yellow Submarine. In 1979 he illustrated Buchi Emecheta's children's book Titch the Cat, published by Allison and Busby.
One of Tam Joseph's best know paintings Spirit of the Carnival, purchased by Wolverhampton Art Gallery, and will be included in Tate Britain's December exhibition "Life Between Islands: Caribbean-British Art 50s - Now".
The original painting of Laughing Legend with Stratocaster is reproduced in the catalogue of "Frans Hals. The Male Portrait", the current exhibition at The Wallace collection. James Innes-Mulrane writes in his review of the exhibition "Tam Joseph’s portrait of Jimi Hendrix as Laughing Legend with Stratocaster makes another point about Hals’s universality. The Laughing Cavalier has become so much part of our collective experience that it is a meme. Hals crosses four centuries very easily, and still has much to say to us."
Tam Joseph joined BAGT Blackhorse Lane studios in 2007.

William Stok was born in Rome and much of his career as an artist and lecturer has been spent between Italy and the UK. In the 1960's he made graphic drawings for the infamous publications International Times and Oz Magazine. Curiously, Lord Longford once bought one of his drawings at this time!
William Stok's BAGT Editions #I print derives from an ongoing series of drawings he made having been diagnosed with a detached retina. Finding he could no longer see to read he embarked upon a series of snap shot biro drawings made whilst travelling on the tube. These later became coloured crayon drawings.
William Stok is widely exhibited. His work can be found in collections such as Tate Gallery, Academia Italiana, Victoria & Albert Museum, Blum Gallery New York, Koppelman Gallery Cologne and the personal collections of HRH Prince of Wales, Jim Broadbent.
